Mind the Gap

If you’re looking carefully at publication dates, you may notice there’s a gap between my last few bits of journalism and reference writing in 1994 and my first published poem in 2000. Those years are the heyday of my corporate career in medical communications, when I served as a project editor, program manager, and account supervisor at a number of medical communications companies in New York and New Jersey before finally leaving my last day job in 2003 and going full-time freelance, at which point I earned my MFA and finished my long-deferred PhD, and now here I am, the me you know so well from Facebook, Twitter, and the blogosphere.
